The Following Panel of Combat Infantrymen Veterans from WORLD WAR II to IRAQ Will Share Their Personal Actions In the Following Historical Events:
JACK RAY HAMMETT, United States Navy, WO, USN. (Ret.), will share his experience at the attack on Pearl Harbor and activities during “D” Day Normandy Invasion, June 6, 1944.
FRED WHITAKER, Corporal in the United States Army, Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient, will share his experience at the Battle of the Bulge, and at the liberation of the Buchenwald Concentration Camp.
RONNIE GUYER, an Army Specialist Radioman, took part in the first major battle in Vietnam Ia Drang Valley. Guyer was the radioman driver to Lt. Coronel Hal G. Moore portrayed by Mel Gibson in the film “We Were Soldiers.”
EHREN TERBEEK, Corporal USMC, Navy Commendation, Purple Heart recipient, Saddleback College student. Ehren completed two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Come support the Army Men's Gymnastics Team as we battle Navy and Air Force in the 9th Annual Palm Tree Classic! Coming off a close defeat to Air Force earlier in the year (by only 0.15) and a defeat last week at Navy, our Cadets could use some additional cheering fans! The tri-meet is this Sunday at Soka University beginning at 7:00 pm. The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday, February 16, so be sure to update your calendars as the schedule was revised to Sunday, February 17, still at 7:00 pm. Soka University of America Directions to Soka University: From I-5, Exit Oso Parkway and turn west (right if you are driving I-5 south, left if you are driving I-5 north); Oso becomes Pacific Park Drive; travel about five miles on Pacific Park Drive and turn left on Wood Canyon Drive; after one mile, turn right on University and you will see the facility on the right. Come support the the Army Men's Volleyball Team! They will participate in a tournament this weekend on the Long Beach State Campus. The tournament is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. Saturday , but the game slots have not yet been determined. Originally the tournament was planned, to be a one day event. However, it has been expanded to a two days as more teams have expressed interest in participating. The tournament organizers are waiting to hear back from Irvine, USC and UCLA before a final schedule is released. Once the schedule is refined, this website will be updated. Games will be played in the West Gym aka "Gold Mine". This gym is one of three, at Cal State Long Beach. It is located near the North Campus Center, Directions to the gym: From Atherton, turn right on to Merriam Way. At the 3rd stop sign, turn left in to Lot 17. Stay straight thru parking lot 2. Turn |

Zion Lutheran Church(in the gym)222 N. East StreetAnaheim We’re getting together to pack HOLIDAY boodle boxes to send to our troops serving overseas. A majority of the boodle boxes will be shipped directly to enlisted soldiers that receive little, if any, mail from home. Some of the boxes will be shipped to a company commander or to a chaplain to distribute to soldiers in their unit. For most of these soldiers, this is their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan . Our soldiers need our support more than ever. We need to let them know the folks back home have not forgotten them.
Here’s how you can help…
- Enclosed is a list of suggested boodle items our troops can use.
- Please bring any of the items on the list to our Holiday Boodle Bash on November 11th.
- If you are unable to attend, please contact us to make arrangements to drop off your items ahead of time.
- If you prefer, we are accepting monetary donations to help pay for postage or to purchase additional boodle items. A donation in any amount would be appreciated.
